SHIFSTRONG

We fight together, so nobody fights alone

SHIFSTRONG is a Southborough-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in memory of Brian Shifrin. We host ALS awareness events, raise funds for families affected by ALS, and connect people to practical support and community.

Our Mission and Programs

Our work is centered on specific programs: community fundraisers, family support, virtual discussions, story sharing, and awareness events that keep ALS visible.

Who We Are

SHIFSTRONG ALS Foundation is a Southborough-based nonprofit started by the Shifrin family after Brian Shifrin's ALS diagnosis and passing in 2019. We turn that experience into local action for families living with ALS.

What We Do

We host fundraising and awareness events, help families connect with resources and equipment support, and create spaces where ALS caregivers and supporters can share practical help and lived experience.

Our Vision

We want every ALS family to have somewhere to turn for support, information, and community so they do not have to face the disease alone.

Get Involved

Community fundraisers

We organize local events like the annual Shifstrong Home Run Derby and ALS Awareness Game with the Southborough Men's Softball League to raise funds and awareness.

Family support

We help ALS families connect with equipment assistance, resource navigation, and a community that understands the day-to-day impact of the disease.

Peer connection

Our virtual discussions and community wall let families and supporters share experiences, ask questions, and avoid feeling isolated.

Awareness partnerships

We take part in public awareness efforts like Boston Red Sox LG4 Day and other local outreach that keeps ALS in front of the community.

Our SHIFSTRONG Family

Behind every diagnosis is a story, a fight, and a community.

Community stories will appear here after they are shared and approved.
